On July 28-30, 2011, CUA Law’s Delta Theta Phi – Hughes Senate sent a Senate delegate, Marissa Boyce (2L), to the 57th Delta Theta Law Fraternity Biennial Convention and Leadership Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. At the Convention, CUA's Hughes Senate was recognized for their dedication to and success in community service. Hughes Senate received an award for Outstanding Charitable Event of the Region. Additionally, delegate Marissa Boyce was recognized individually as an Outstanding Student of the Region and received the Cole Award for her professionalism.
The Convention served as an opportunity for Delta Theta Phi members from across the United States to network and share ideas, as well as to participate in professionalism courses and leadership seminars. Hughes Senate looks forward to continuing their successful tradition of service, professional development, and academic achievement. For the 2011-12 school year, DTP - Hughes Senate has already collected over $700 in school supplies for needy children at St. Anthony Catholic School.
