About the Class Gift:

The Class Gift Campaign is aimed at benefiting current students, future students, and alumni of Catholic Law.  The support of each member of the Class of 2011 will increase alumni participation and giving rates, which in turn will help to raise the reputation and the ranking of our school.  It will also help to provide the vital funds needed to enhance existing programs and to recruit future students with outstanding credentials.  Your gift will ensure the continued quality and ever-expanding breadth of the legal education at Catholic, raising the school’s profile and increasing the value of our degree.

You may contribute to the Class Gift by making a gift, which is money donated now, or a pledge, which is an agreement to donate money in the future.  If you make a pledge, you may fulfill your commitment over a five-year period or at any time within a five-year timeframe.  Further, as a contributor, you have the ability to designate how you would like your gift to be used.  You may designate that your gift go toward the annual fund, which allows Catholic to offer scholarships to highly qualified applicants.  Alternatively, you may elect for your contribution to go to a specific organization within the Catholic Law community—in other words, you may designate your contribution to a particular journal, moot court, institute, scholarship fund, or other organization.

Obviously, in the current economic and employment climate, we recognize that there are severe financial constraints on graduating students.  We would like to stress that it is not the amount, but rather your participation and your commitment to give that is most valuable.  Traditionally, graduating classes have shown their investment in and support of the law school by leaving generous Class Gifts.  We would like the Class of 2011 to continue in this tradition and, therefore, we have set a goal for participation from 40% of all graduating students.  Please join us in meeting this goal!

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Alumni and Development Office at 202-319-4623 and they will be happy to help you.  We thank you in advance for your participation and support.
